The California Reconnect initiative supports adult learners that have some college but no credential in returning to complete their education through personalized coaching and proactive outreach. Since launching in 2023, California Reconnect has contacted over 25,000 former students, resulting in an overall reenrollment rate of 8.15 percent—more than three times the national average. Evaluation findings show the model’s promise in reducing barriers, rebuilding student confidence, and helping institutions re-engage learners at scale.
